A Brief History

At the beginning of 2001, Sophie Hubble and Bella Landen, sisters, decided to leave their respective careers to start a childcare nursery. Their motivation came from a strong desire to work together and offer an environment where children would be at the heart of everything. That Zoom children would grow and develop in a safe and loving nursery that was structured to make the most of their natural thirst for learning.

They also wanted their parents to enjoy an open and honest relationship with the nursery, ultimately ensuring that communication links were provided to enable them to feel that although they may not have been with their child during the day, they still felt involved.

By no means last, they also wanted the Zoom team to experience a well equipped and supportive environment in which they would feel valued and respected - whilst being able to personally and professionally grow.

Zoom Nurseries opened its first site at Maythorne Cottages, Hither Green SE13 in January 2003.

Zoom opened its second site, a bespoke baby unit in Beacon Road, SE13 (practically over the road from its Maythorne Cottage site) in April 2004.

In January 2005, Zoom opened its third nursery in Eltham SE9 (just off the Yorkshire Grey roundabout).

The Blackheath nursery was opened in March 2011 and Zoom's new baby in Brockley opened in March 2015.

Zoom is a living, breathing company - constantly reviewing and enhancing its offering to its children, parents and team. Welcome!
